How To Find The Best Moisturizer

How To Find The Best Moisturizer

You’ve started a new skincare routine. You’ve got all your products laid out before you but do you know what any of them do? Do you know what ingredients are in your moisturizers?

It’s important that you find the best moisturizer for your skin or else your routine may end up doing more harm than good. This being said you need to look at the ingredients on a bottle before you put it in your shopping cart and choose one that works with your skin type.

If this sounds confusing don’t worry, we can walk you through it. Keep reading for tips on how to find your ideal moisturizer.

1. Oily Skin

If you have oily skin then you hold moisture in better than all the other skin types. This means that if you apply something heavy on your skin like coconut oil it will leave you looking and feeling greasy.

Instead of going with heavy moisturizers you should pick something a little lighter like a hyaluronic acid face cream. Acid-based creams are easier on oily skin and it will leave you feeling rejuvenated.

2. Dry Skin

If you have dry skin then you have the opposite problem then the one mentioned above. Your skin doesn’t make enough oil. Still, that doesn’t mean you should throw on a bunch of heavy moisturizers.

You still have to pay attention to the ingredients you’re using. Look for a moisturizer that contains shea butter or coconut oil. They should be able to provide your dry itchy skin with some type of relief.

3. Sensitive Skin

If you have sensitive skin then you have to be careful with what moisturizer you buy. Products with too many perfumes or harsh ingredients will irritate your skin and do more harm than good.

It’s best for you to reach for hypoallergenic products that contain ingredients such as chamomile or aloe.

4. Normal Skin

If you have a normal skin type then it’s not too oily and not too dry. Still, you should use lighter moisturizers. Lightweight oil-based creams and silicone-based ones are going to be your go-to.

5. Combination Skin

If you have combination skin, you’ll sadly have to purchase more than one moisturizer. People with combination skin have dry skin around their cheeks and are more oily around their forehead and nose.

So, you’ll need to apply heavier oil-based creams around your cheeks but a lighter, more acid-based one around your forehead and nose.

Finding the Best Moisturizer for Your Skin

Are you having trouble finding the best moisturizer for your skin? The main thing you have to ask yourself is what’s your skin type?

If you have oily skin you’ll need something more acid-based, dry skin needs something with more moisturizing oil. Only bring the best ingredients into your skincare routine.
